University of Iowa Annual Security Report – Includes Crime Rates on Campus

The University of Iowa Department of Public Safety has released the 2013 Security Report which includes crime rates on campus. The official announcement is below. This information is made available to the public as required by law.

The University of Iowa is committed to assisting all members of the UI community in providing for their own safety and security. The annual security and fire safety compliance document has been released and is available on the UI Department of Public Safety’s website at:

If you would like to receive the combined Annual Security and Fire Safety Report which contains this information, you can stop by the UI Department of Public Safety at 808 University Capitol Centre, Iowa City, IA 52242 or you can request that a copy be mailed to you by calling (319) 335-5022.

The document contains information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as: crime prevention, fire safety, university police law enforcement authority, crime reporting policies, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security and safety on campus. They also contain information about crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University of Iowa; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.

This information is required by law and is provided by The UI Department of Public Safety.
